Née le 27 septembre 1984 à Napanée au Canada, Avril Lavigne apprend à jouer de la guitare seule et écrit ses premières chansons à l'âge de 12 ans.

Oscillant entre la pop et le punk rock, elle se produit dans quelques festivals régionaux, jusqu'au jour où Antonio Reid (RCA / Arista) lui propose un contrat.

Elle arrête alors ses études pour se consacrer à la musique et sort son album "Let Go" en 2002, suivi de "Under my Skin" en 2004 et enfin de "The best damn thing" en 2007 !
